From June 4-6, the National Archives Foundation will host the Spirit of Independence Festival, a three-day celebration filled with free family-friendly events, live performances, culinary experiences and special evening programming in the heart of Washington, DC.
Beneath a tent spanning two city blocks on Constitution Avenue, the festival unfolds steps from where the original Declaration of Independence is housed – a fitting backdrop for one of the most ambitious public celebrations in the city's 250th anniversary calendar. The festival marks the one-month countdown to July 4 and America's 250th anniversary celebration in the nation's capital.
Visitors can experience immersive activities, historical storytelling, patriotic tributes and uniquely DC celebrations steps away from the original Declaration of Independence.
