Kick off Women’s History Month with a hands-on wheat pasting activity around gender equity. Add your voice to an interactive poster wall and see what others in the community are passionate about. This is a fun, all-ages way to speak up and be part of a creative action that brings community voices to public spaces. Materials provided. The Free Community Day includes no-cost entry, an Open Studio for drop-in art making, tours, and more. Free. Advance registration suggested.

About Community Day: Visit us on the first Sunday and second Wednesday of each month for free museum admission. Take this opportunity to explore our collection and current exhibitions.

Be Heard Poster Wall: Kick off Women’s History Month by participating in a hands-on wheat pasting activity, part of our advocacy for gender equity in the arts! From 10 am to 4 pm, add your voice to our interactive poster wall and see what others in the community are passionate about. Be part of a collective, creative action that puts your voices front and center.

Open Studio: Join NMWA educators in the museum’s studio on the 4th floor from 10 am to 4 pm for free, self-directed, drop-in art-making activities inspired by artworks on view. Activities and inspirations change each month. Visitors of all ages are invited to participate. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Collection Highlights Tour: Explore the museum’s collection during these engaging 45-minute drop-in tours at 11 am and 2 pm. These guided experiences feature six to eight works on view, highlighting the creative contributions of artists from the 16th century to today. Meet in the Great Hall.

Library and Research Center: Browse the reading room, which holds an extensive collection of books. Whether you’re an avid researcher, a student, or simply curious, our welcoming space offers a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. Stop by from 10 am to 4 pm and explore the stories, works, and legacies of women and nonbinary artists from around the globe!
