MDW is the home of the Army's official ceremonial unit, the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band (Pershing's Own). These units participate in ceremonies at the White House, the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. Free community events, like Twilight Tattoo, and concerts are held throughout the year.
