Flag Day: A Veterans Day Film Screening & Panel

Event Headline Celebrate Veterans Day with a film exploring service, community, and what brings us together as Americans.

Nov 11, 2026. Doors open at 1:30 PM

Join the United States Navy Memorial this Veterans Day for a free screening of Flag Day, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and one of the film’s participants.

Set in Three Oaks, Michigan—home to the nation’s largest Flag Day parade—the film follows veterans, local residents, business owners, marching bands, and volunteers as they prepare for a tradition that has helped define their community for generations. Through their stories, Flag Day explores themes of service, identity, belonging, and the traditions that connect Americans across generations.

The program will begin with opening remarks from Vice Admiral John B. Nowell Jr., USN (Ret.), followed by the film screening and a panel discussion and Q&A with filmmakers Andrew Shea and Melissa Shea and film participant Albert Brayboy Jr., USN (Ret.).
