The National Archives is the place to be for the nation’s semiquincentennial birthday celebration. Located just off the National Mall and open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, visitors can learn about the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence and much more.
Reserve your tickets early and note that the museum will host extended hours from June 22 through July 5 (excluding June 23).

National Archives Foundation
On June 4-6, the National Archives Foundation will host one of DC's biggest 250th anniversary events, the Spirit of Independence Festival. This three-day celebration will be filled with free family-friendly events, live performances, culinary experiences and special evening programming in the heart of Washington, DC.

See the Road to Revolution exhibit
Join the Archives on the road to Revolution! The special 250th-anniversary exhibit, Road to Revolution, highlights National Archives records that document major milestones that led to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. On display in the West Rotunda Gallery of the National Archives Building, it is open through Aug. 6, 2026.
